Thank you Angela for visiting and taking the time to drop us a line.
Whenever I see questions like yours about the future I am transported back to freshman year at York University in Toronto Canada where the Timbuk3 song “The Future’s So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades” was always blasting our campus pubs. Oh yeah, in Canada the drinking age is 19 so Universities do have on-campus bars and pubs, but they also card everyone with valid student id so underaged students can’t drink also keeps the off-campus public out. I digress…
I feel blessed to have lived in the decades that I have especially when it comes to technology. I’ve always been an out-of-the-box thinker and knew with certainty that the idea of the internet and creating a global communication system was always a game changing possibility.
I do hope that collectively we decide to think more about what and why and the consequences of what we bring to fruition. I have never underestimated the need for security and regulation when it comes to electronic data. Years ago folks thought me “uptight” or “paranoid” for not wanting to post my life or that of children on every social media platform. It not something one would do on the outside of their home, or walk around with a sandwich board to display, so why post what you consider private where billions have access to see it? Let’s hope we get more of the forethought done as we head into the next era.
Thank you for visiting, hope to see you again soon.

You are going to think I am stalking you, as I have left so many comments on your wonderful, inspiring website in the last few days. This was the article I found on the first top 10 emerging technologies to watch in 2024. While I am old enough to remember the thrill of the moon landing in 1969, it is important to keep our eyes on the lifelong learning process of keeping up with technology. I put my name down in the seventies with a private company to go to the moon. I hoped it might happen. Hey, if I get grandchildren, I hope to accompany them in spirit to Mars.
The future of many of these technologies lies with private companies , Which are often more agile than government agencies. They can make faster decisions without the bureaucratic delays common in large public organizations.I don’t know much about technology, but I innerstand business. In my opinion, private companies can take more calculated risks than government agencies, which tend to be more conservative due to political and public scrutiny.
Catherine Ford you are most welcome to visit and comment on any and all items on the site. It makes me happy that you’ve been touched by some of the articles and posts.
I’m not much younger than you are. I remember my mother crying and talking to family and friends on the phone as the nation watched live walks on the moon. I didn’t understand the big deal. the Jetsons were out in space all the time. Even Astro their dog!
I’m the the age that my grandmother was when she took care of me and I recall her stories of walking 10 miles to school each day, of movie theatres and seeing an airplane for the first time. It always seem to be capitalism and commercial interests that drive the development of innovative ideas. I only worry that we don’t take everyone into account nor think of the consequences of some actions. Paraphrasing Einstein “Just because we can do something doesn’t mean we should.” Our human advancements are usually borne from fantastic dreams of people who see the world in a different way. Unfortunately, that usually gets tainted by profits and monetary gains and the lines of what should and shouldn’t be done are blurred… or erased.
We all need to take responsibility for the uses of technology in our day-to-day living and hold those who sell tech accountable to high standards that take the well-being of the planet into consideration before anything else.
Thank you for taking your time to visit the site.
Hope to have more of your feedback as we grow.
